Denied Request for OIS Case Banking Unit Copier & Fax Machine

Re:  Step III Class Action Contractual Grievance
Denied Request for OIS Case Banking Unit Copier & Fax Machine
       Article XXV. Non-Discrimination

Dear Mr. Ramos:

CWA Local 1081 obsequiously submits this Step III Class Action Contractual Grievance to protest DFAB Director Jeanette Page-Hawkins’ denial of our Union’s attached memorialized request of March 17, 2017 the County provide our Union’s members assigned to the Case Banking Unit of the Office of Intake Services a copy machine and fax machine within their actual location within the “bank”. Ms. Page-Hawkins failed to reply to our Union’s attached Step II Class Action Contractual Grievance of March 31, 2017.

While Ms. Page-Hawkins’ attached memorialized offer of March 27, 2017 to allow our aggrieved members to utilize the copier within the mailroom abutting the Case Banking Unit’s area is appreciated, the fact that our Union’s members assigned to the mailroom are nearly constantly running off thousands of copies of documents for the entire DFAB renders her tender, unfortunately, unacceptable. Additionally, CWA Local 1081 deferentially disagrees with her assertion that within the Case Banking Unit “a fax machine is not needed”.

The resolution to this grievance our Union respectfully demands consists of the County expeditiously arranging for a copier and fax machine to be installed within the Case Banking Unit. We seek a hearing in this regard.

Sincerely,

David H. Weiner, President, CWA Local 1081
